THERE WILL BE AN OLD BIRD SHOW AND CLASSES WILL BE COLORS ONLY.  ENTRY IS $2.00 PER BIRD WITH A 10.00 MINIMUM.
CLASSES:  BB COCK AND HEN, BC  COCK AND HEN, RED CHECK COCK AND HEN, MLY OR SILVER COCK AND HEN AND ANY OTHER COLOR COCK AND HEN.  BEST IN SHOW COCK AND HEN WILL WIN  PLAQUES OR TROPHIE.  RIBBONS WILL  BE GIVEN FOR FIRST PLACE FOR SECOND PLACE IN EACH CLASS.

Joseph C. Mihans, 71, died Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Durham Regional Hospital in Durham. Joe was born June 18, 1938, in Poughkeepsie, NY, to the late Joseph A. and Anna (Albano) Mihans.
Joe was an avid outdoorsman and environmentalist. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was known to many as the “Pigeon Man” for his hobby of raising racing pigeons. He worked with IBM for 35 years, is a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and truly enjoyed being with his family.
His loving family includes his wife of 48 years, Mary “Bunny” Mihans, children, Christopher Mihan and wife Lisa of Youngsville, Jonathan Mihans and Gina Chuifo of Wendell, David Mihans and Maureen Mihans, both of Raleigh, brothers, William, Richard, and John, sister, Mary Ann Johnsen, grandchildren, Brian, Eric, Joey, and Chance, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 1 PM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 11401 Leesville Road, Raleigh, 27613. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2009 from 7-9 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joe’s memory can be made to the Neuse River Foundation, PO Box 15451, New Bern, NC, 28561 or Duke Hospice, 4321 Medical Park Drive, Durham, NC, 27704.
